Jaime E. Fergie, MD, is associate professor of pediatrics at Texas A&M University College of Medicine in College Station, Texas. In addition, he serves as associate director of medical education, director of pediatric infectious diseases, and infection control officer at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dr Fergie is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the European Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, the Society for Pediatric Research, and serves on the Executive Committee for the Section of Infectious Diseases for the American Academy of Pediatrics. His current clinical research involves the effects of a monoclonal antibody on respiratory syncytial virus infection in high-risk children. Dr Fergie is a reviewer for such journals as Clinical Infectious Diseases, Journal of Pediatrics, Pediatrics, and The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal. He has authored numerous articles for The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal and other journals.
Dr Fergie received his medical degree from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine of Central University of Venezuela in Caracas.
